Winemaking Winemakers hand-pick Semillon grapes in the cool Carneros morning at peak freshness, then ferment them in a precise blend of stainless steel for vibrancy and neutral French oak for texture. Using heritage California and ENTAV 173 clones to layer zesty citrus with waxy florals, the wine finishes with three months of gentle lees stirring to enhance the creamy mid-palate while blocking malolactic to preserve bright acidity.
Vintage The 2024 Carneros vintage unfolded under cool maritime fog and breezes, extending the growing season and preserving vibrancy. A mild spring and temperate summer allowed Semillon clusters to ripen slowly, reaching 22.5–23.5° Brix with hallmark acidity. Hand-harvested in early mornings, the fruit showed precision, small berries, and balanced canopies shaped by shallow clay loam and gravelly soils. Fermentation in stainless steel and neutral oak, with three months of lees stirring, captured a vintage defined by elegance, freshness, and textural depth.
Pairing Logic This Semillon’s bright lime and green apple notes, lifted by white flowers and lemon zest, make it a natural partner for delicate seafood, fresh salads, and citrus-accented dishes. Its creamy mid-palate and subtle beeswax richness complement soft cheeses, roasted poultry, and lightly spiced vegetarian fare. The wine’s zesty finish brings a refreshing contrast to creamy textures and enhances dishes with herbal or nutty elements.
